Golden Circle & Fontana Wellness

This day tour includes both a tour of the famous Golden Circle and visit to the Fontana’s natural steam baths. The Golden Circle includes stops at three of Iceland’s most beautiful natural landmarks. Þingvellir National Park, where the Icelandic parliament Alþingi was established in the year 930 AD. Þingvellir is not only worth a visit due to its historical importance but also for its stunning surroundings. Gullfoss waterfall is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Iceland. The hot spring area around Geysir and Strokkur. Although good old Geysir rarely preforms, his fellow geyser Strokkur erupts every 6-10 minutes.

Ever since 1929, the locals have been enjoying the healing power of the natural steam bath by Laugarvatn Lake. The original sauna was little more than a shack with two compartments, built above the hot spring that bubbles and gurgles below the ground. Today, a modern complex will welcome you at Fontana’s Wellness to relax with various hot tubs and steam baths naturally heated by Icelandic hot springs. Before heading back to Reykjavik, you will be offered to try typical Icelandic rye bread that is slow-baked in the natural hot springs.
