Arctic Coastline & Micro Brewery

This tour departs from Akureyri.

This tour focuses on Coastal life and beautiful surroundings on the way. We take our time to walk the black sandy beach in Ólafsfjörður village, visit small fishing villages and the award winning Siglufjörður Herring Museum. In the 1940s and 1950s Siglufjörður town bloomed due to the herring industry which had a great  influence on the social and economical structure of Iceland. The old buildings have now been renovated and there we can get a touch of this fascinating history and how the coastal life shaped the culture and people's life during last century. We travel along one of Iceland's most beautiful coastlines, on the edge of the mountainous Tröllaskagi peninsula, and enjoy some unique views towards the North Atlantic.
The tour ends with a special visit to Kaldi Brewery, Iceland’s first micro-brewery, were we will get to taste their products, along with local food, matched with their brew.
